Day Retreat - Longevity

# # # A day retreat including yoga, experiential work, meditation, deep relaxation and psycho-education, taking place at Flow Space in Dalston.

Overview

Maximise your wellness, how you feel and look, and maximise your longevity.

On Saturday April 2nd, we will be facilitating another city day retreat. This will include all the therapeutic aspects of a Resurface retreat into day of creativity, self-discovery and self-care.

This retreat will focus on the concept of longevity: defining what it means and how to improve it.

The day will include yoga facilitated by Kristine, meditation, experiential work and deep relaxation with Barnaby, and pscho-education and experiential group work with Josh.

We encourage you to eat together but if you would prefer to eat elsewhere please do bring your own lunch or check out the many other places to eat in Dalston.

We have all yoga equipment but if you wish to bring your own mat please do so.

Dress for yoga/meditation in the morning. For the experiential we will use clay which doesn't stain so feel free to dress as you wish.

There is a consultation room and toilets in which to change.

Meet The Team

Josh Dickson

Josh Dickson

Josh is an accredited EMDR Consultant, an accredited drugs and alcohol professional and a licenced Heartmath coach. He is the clinical director of the Resurface programme.

He has been working in private practice and as a consultant for Start2Stop since 2012 and has a special interest in treating trauma and promoting positive psychology. He is an experienced group facilitator, lecturer and public speaker.

Josh has recently finished training with The Flow Research Collective and continues to be active in research around flow states, trauma and recovery.

Kristine Steffenak

Kristine Steffenak

Kristine is a medical doctor with experience as both a GP, emergency medicine and Obstetrics/Gyneacology, working in both the UK and Norway.

She completed her 200 hours yoga teaching in Kerala, India, in January 2019 and is certified by Yoga Alliance USA.  In June 2020 she completed her Power Yoga training with the London Power Yoga Company. She recently completed her 300 hours  TCTSY (trauma sensitive yoga) facilitation training with the Trauma Centre, Brookline, Massachusetts.

Barnaby Hosking

Barnaby Hosking

Barnaby is co-founder of Flow Space, a new centre in Dalston, East London dedicated to flourishing and wellbeing. He is both a practicing Artist and a mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) teacher-in-training with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. 

He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2003 and has since been exhibiting his work internationally whilst running Ridley Road Studios, an affordable artist studio provider in Dalston.   

Barnaby has a keen interest in the therapeutic effect of making art within the context of mindfulness practice and has a vision of bringing this to a wider audience through Flow Space.

A wellness centre in the heart of Dalston.

Located in the heart of Dalston, Flow space is a wellness venue dedicated to helping people flourish. 

As well as regular yoga classes, Flow space hosts a range of wellness activities including film screenings, art classes, therapy groups, yoga workshops and mindfulness groups. The venue is also available to hire.

Schedule

This is a guide to the day's activities. Although we hope to stick to this schedule, we reserve the right to change the timings.9.30 am - Arrive for tea and checking in for the day


10 am - Yoga with Kristine

11am - Meditation with Barnaby

11.30 am - Workshop on longevity with Josh

12.30 - 2pm - Lunch

2pm - Continuation of workshop on longevity

3pm - Breath work with Barnaby

4pm - Positive Psychology exercises boosting positive emotion

5.30pm - Deep Relaxation
